Mtech's Entrepreneurship Education and Venture Creation Programs

Mtech is the A. James Clark School of Engineering's vehicle for educating the next generation of technology entrepreneurs and helping entrepreneurs create successful new technology ventures. Mtech's activities include:

Entrepreneurship Education:

Venture Creation:

  • VentureAccelerator helps University of Maryland faculty, researchers and students form and launch startup companies to commercialize their technical inventions by providing practical business assistance, consultation services, and incubator space

  • The Technology Advancement Program (TAP) helps regional technology startup ventures grow and become sustainable companies by providing business support, access to funding sources, modern IT and biotech infrastructure, and flexible, furnished office and laboratory space.

National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance (NCIIA)

The National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance fosters invention, innovation, and entrepreneurship in higher education as a way of creating innovative, commercially viable, and socially beneficial businesses and employment opportunities in the United States. The NCIIA welcomes proposals for commercially viable projects that are technologically innovative and show promise to improve the environment and the human condition. Such projects should follow a sustainable entrepreneurial model.
